I'm currently listening to Connie Han. Earlier I listened to Jethro Tull's Songs from the Wood, which is pretty much British folk music prog style. I'm completely unsurprised Anderson was influenced by a giant tome about British folklore and myths for that album. Like Neil Young, I've been kicking myself in the ass for sleeping on Jethro Tull. Well, not any longer.
Guitar wise, I'm getting very close to buying a Martin acoustic. Truth be told, I should have gotten one of those first, but I would have wanted the Strat soon enough anyway. Absolutely no fucking regrets. My fingers are getting tough and my playing improves every time I pick it up. And, most importantly, I'm not experiencing any fatigue, pain, or numbness from my carpal tunnel syndrome. Not saying it's gone, because it's not, just saying that at this time, it's not bothering me.
Writing wise, I'm stuck with my big project as there's only some cool ideas with decent characters and no actual story, so I started working on a weird crime novel/novella I've been kicking around for a minute. Going to try to mix weird crime and folk horror together, which has probably been done. I have a feeling this one could be a pretty wild story. It's about an abandoned estate and the group of idiots who try to steal as much as they can get out of it. There's a reason it's abandoned, and they soon learn they aren't the only ones who ever thought about ripping the place off.
Two months without a newsletter feels like a long time, and I know I said I would do one this month, and ... well here we are. It ain't happening this month. I will do my best to put something together for May.
