Life revolves around a lot of substituting.

We substitute this for that all the time. Sometimes we make the change for something close but similar, or something all together different. Since my writing kinda slumped—lots of ideas and no story to back them up—I decided to shift (substitute) my creative energies back to music. And while I'm still very rusty when it comes to playing guitar, my practices are going smoothly. And ... as expected ... my story maker has been clocking in overtime processing ideas into something workable.

My percolator has been percolating.

Substitution, in this particular instance, as worked in my favor.

I highly recommend substituting whenever you feel stuck. Most creatives usually have several irons in the fire. Some write and draw, others paint and create music, some can write, draw, and create music. If something isn't firing up in one creative endeavor, turn the iron on another creative side that might not have been getting that much attention. For me, it was music.

That's all I've got for today.
