I'm still dealing with the nasty stye infection on my eyelid. It is a lot better, the medicine is helping, but I'm growing weary of wearing my glasses all the time. Between cleaning the lid, hot compresses, and massaging the lid (which only sounds horny), I'm tired of dealing with this mess. Sadly, it takes forever to heal a stye this severe. Your actual eyes heal very quickly, perhaps the fastest of all human organs.
The flesh around the eyes ... not so much.
I spent my day off working on my WIP, listening to music, and daydreaming. Since becoming a vinyl snob, I've been acquiring albums like it's going out of style again. My initial conquest—all of Opeth's progressive albums—is almost complete, with Sorceress and In Cauda Venenum both in route. I hate having to buy these albums used, but the Sorceress is damn near impossible to find, and it's a must have.
Of course, being this September marks the 10th anniversary of that album, I'm figuring Opeth will reissue a special edition in vinyl later in the year.
Just my luck.
I'm being really snobby about the vinyl I'm acquiring. Yeah, I have some Metallica, even some Megadeth, but I'm primarily sticking with progressive bands and jazz. Jazz sounds amazing on vinyl. I'm continuously blown away while listening to Miles Davis' Kind of Blue album ... so damn good. Vinyl makes for good writing sessions. Stop to flip the album, get back to writing. Long albums for the win, which is why I'm picking up the Opeth albums, as they tend to get a little long in the tooth with their tracks. Definitely looking to finish up my Pink Floyd albums next, then work on The Mars Volta and Rush.
Anyway, back to the daily grind tomorrow.
