Started working on another idea. I'm still clicking away at my WIP, but I really, really, really like this new idea. As envisioned, it will allow me to write about my current obsessions, fantasy, esoteric/mystical/occult philosophy, and progressive rock/jazz. This idea hit while imagining a character settling into a world POST dark academia. This isn't urban fantasy, this is definitely dark contemporary fantasy.

It is another music story.

Think Naked Lunch meets Michael Chabon meets King's Fairytale with a dab of Our Lady of Darkness.

And by working, I mean I'm still developing the basic concept, but I have a character in mind, and as soon as he starts talking to me—hopefully soon—I'll be able to start cranking out the words. The beats feel pretty much formed, might need a little tweaking, I'm just filling in the spaces with little details to wake my main character up.

Anyway, that's the deal for now ... more to come.
