Happy Halloween!
I hope everyone is getting their fill of fun and frights and candy and horror movies. I've already watched all the Halloween franchise movies I wanted to see this year, so I'm all good there. November 1st represents somewhat of a reset for me. I work retail and November means no more paid time-off, a laser focus on sales and production, and a general ramp up to the beginning of the true holiday cycle ... Black Friday.
Have I mentioned how much I hate Black Friday?
Not yet?
Well, let me count the ways ...
Hahaha, erm ... seriously, I hate Black Friday. If you work retail, you know why. It's not how busy you are, it's how busy you are while dealing with assholes. People are already crazy, and Black Friday turns customers foaming at the mouth rabid.

For the next two months, things will be like Hell on Earth for me at work. Sure, I'll make a lot of money, but dealing with the public, especially during holiday times, is extremely frustrating and, considering the world we live, often can be dangerous. You have to bite your tongue, because people tend to lose their minds, and that's when really bad stuff happens ... no need to stir the coals.
I'll do my best to post here often, if anything to vent/rant, but mainly to present some essays about the horror genre and the craft of writing. I'll be doing my newsletter here soon enough, basically a recap of somethings with whatever other news that might be floating around. If I don't make it here everyday, don't fret ... that just means I've been busy and probably a little worn out.
Happy Halloween everybody!
