I decided to try something a little different for my current project. I started the story earlier with this part, years in the past, from a different POV, showing scenes alluded to in my half-ass outline though not actually part of it. I'm digging this, as I'm showing a character who will become an antagonist, though not the main antagonist. It also will allow me to introduce my main character at a younger age, so the next time we catch up with him he's much older.

I don't know how this is going to work out, but I'm going with it. I feel like if I hadn't of written some kind of outline then I would have never been able to get to this point, so for that I'm grateful.

There's been a lot of chatter online about the new Ed Gein series on Netflix. I have to admit I was intrigued by the first couple of episodes. Granted, I knew going in this wasn't going to be a by-the-number reenactment of Gein's life, but I had no idea they were going to take such liberties. Okay, let's be fair and call these liberties inaccuracies, because that's exactly what they are. It's like they made an entire series based on the stupid ass bullshit stories concerning Gein and left historical record on the cutting floor. This show is so inaccurate it's laughable, which is sad because the production is very slick. They went through a lot of effort to make this as enjoyable as possible. I'm sure there are people out there digging the hell out of it, but considering how much of the story isn't "the story", I bailed after episode five. I hate saying something is bad when I simply didn't like it, but damn ... I guess I can say it's bad. The only thing I enjoyed was the reenactments of the making of the The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and even that was pretty inaccurate.

Will probably be back tomorrow with some book promotion and a little talk about what I've been reading.
