It's been ages since I've used a mechanical keyboard. My go-to is a Logi-tech bluetooth model that's like the Mac keyboard only it's backlit. My hand strength is not the best due to carpal tunnel syndrome, and those little chicklet keys are just the right depth that I can type quickly without having to constantly look at the keyboard. I see those mechanical style keyboards advertised, and many of my peers SWEAR by them, but I don't think I can use one. We have one of those cheap-ass windows keyboards for the computer at work and I hate using that piece of crap, but that's probably not any comparison to those expensive keyboards I see online.
Might need to check out a display model at Best Buy and see what's clicking.
February's newsletter essay is going to be about the intersection of folklore and horror, with runs the breadth of dark-fantasy and folk-horror. There's a strong connection there. I'm not the first to write about it. It's nothing new, but actually something quite old, just starting to make the rounds again like everything else does. Of course, when old things return, it changes because a newer generation of writers is applying their own experiences, which is probably why old stuff feels so new sometimes. Anyway, I'll be kicking a few ideas around in the journal to flesh some concepts out.
Listening to NIN's Bad Witch on vinyl, which is really a damn good way to spend an evening.
